How do I use Komut?
Getting Started
Set up your account and take your first steps.
Creating your first route
Your route is how you show up in discovery. Add where you start, where you're going, and when you usually commute.
- 1.Open the Routes tab and tap Add route.
- 2.Enter your starting point and destination.
- 3.Pick the days and approximate time of your commute.
- 4.Save — your route is now part of the Komut community.
Finding people going your way
Once a route is saved, open Explore to see people nearby or whose routes overlap with yours. Profiles show the direction and general area of travel, so you can decide who fits your commute before reaching out.
Sending a connection
Open a profile, review their route, and tap Send connection request. Add a short, friendly note about when and where you usually travel — it greatly improves your chances of being accepted.
Accepting a connection
When someone requests to connect, you'll get a notification. Review their route and choose Accept or Decline — you stay in control, and it's fine to decline if the timing doesn't work.
Switching account type
Komut supports both passenger and driver profiles. Go to Profile → Account type to switch. Drivers use credits to accept or send connections, while Komut is free for passengers.
Routes
Create, edit, and manage the routes you commute on.
Create a route
Go to the Routes tab, tap Add route, enter your start and end points with your usual days and times, then save. You can create separate routes for work, school, or recurring trips.
Edit a route
Open the Routes tab, select the route you want to change, and tap Edit. Updating origin, destination and schedule type is restricted once created to avoid mutating the route.
Pause a route
Pausing hides a route from discovery without deleting it — perfect for holidays or remote-work weeks. Open the route and toggle Pause; resume it anytime with the same switch.
Manage active routes
You can keep maximum 3 routes active at once in total either as a driver or passenger (for example, a morning commute and a weekend route). You can pause one to create another.
Connections
Request, respond to, and coordinate with people.
Send a connection request
In Explore tab find someone nearby or on your route, view the details of route, and tap Send connection request. Include a short note about your schedule — once they accept, you can coordinate directly.
Accept or decline a request
Open the request from your notifications, review the person's route and note, then choose Accept or Decline. You stay in control, and it's fine to decline if the timing doesn't work.
Coordinate your commute
Once a connection is accepted, you can coordinate via whatsapp or call to agree on meeting points, timing, and how often you'd like to travel together — you decide what works for both of you.
Credits
Understand how credits work for drivers.
Buy credits
Open Account → Billing, choose a credit pack, and complete the payment through the in-app purchase flow. Credits are added to your balance within minutes of a successful payment.
View your balance
Your current credit balance is always shown on the Account screen under your profile. It reflects immediately after you send or accept a connection.
Use credits
Drivers require two credits for each connection request, and credits are deducted once the connection is made. Passengers never need credits — Komut is free for them. Everyone receives 6 free credits at signup.
Payment issues
If a purchase failed or credits haven't appeared, wait a few minutes and refresh the Credits screen. Still missing? Email support with your receipt and we'll investigate and fix it.
Credits refund policy
Komut does not offer refunds for credits. If you have a technical issue with your account or billing, contact support and we'll help resolve it.
Common issues
I can't log in
Confirm the email you used to sign up. If you forgot your password, tap Forgot password? You will receive an email with instructions to reset your password, if the email exists. Still having trouble? Email support with your account details.
My connection request wasn't answered
The other person may not have seen it yet. You can cancel or wait for a response. No credits are consumed for unaccepted requests.
I was charged but didn't receive credits
Purchases can take a few minutes to appear. If your balance is still wrong, email support team with your account details and we'll investigate.
